Tola Sylvan is a poet and translator. Her Pushcart-nominated work appears in journals such as Ploughshares, Poetry, and The Iowa Review, and has been supported by grants, scholarships, and fellowships from the McCormack Writing Center (formerly Tin House), Sundress Academy for the Arts, the Mellon Foundation, and Tupelo Press.

She taught in the undergraduate creative writing program at Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a Dean’s Distinguished Graduate Fellow and received an MFA in poetry.
