Tola Sylvan is a writer and creator.

Her work appears in Ploughshares, The Iowa Review, POETRY, and other journals.

She was a Dean's Distinguished Graduate Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, where she taught in the undergraduate creative writing program. Her writing has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and has received support from Tin House, Tupelo Press, and the Mellon Foundation.

She previously studied cognitive science at Brown University.
